Soccer is so bad....why do Europeans like it? IT IS SOOOOOO BORING....I am not just saying this because USA lost...its because it really does suck...

Dude i agree with u 100% soccer sucks i can't stand to watch the damn sport when it is on t.v. i skip it and go to another channel. And how r the idiots who answered this question saying baseball and american football are boring both football and baseball are 1,000,000 times better than soccer because they r packed with action but soccer is like a 2 hr. long game and they only score once i mean come on how can u watch that.

The reason soccer, a British slang term from the 1890's for football not an American term, is so boring is the lack of scoring caused by the conservative strategies that most teams use. They would rather keep the score low so that a lesser team can always stay in the game and hope to get a goal or two and possibly win or tie. As far as the comparison to American sports having a stoppages in play and soccer's constant running clock being so great I wish I could say that equates with constant effort and game changing plays. The truth is many of the players hardly move during parts of the game and there is a lot of possession play that is not meant to lead to scoring. The fake injury falls that lead to stoppages in play are frequent so you really can't say that aren't breaks in play.

Like every other sport soccer is what you make of it.
Personally I love soccer.
I happen to think it's the best sport.
As for all those other sports like baseball and football they're boring to watch. But I guess they wouldn't be boring if you play them.
I like watching hockey though. I like watching a bunch guys beating the crap out of each other.

Hey name one other sport that has such unique roots to unify the world into one event even during the Nazi period of war the world cup lived even during war haha nothing better than this sport if u ask me and im pretty sure u cant beat that

and baseball is the most exciting sport? 30 seconds and one pitch oh, its a ball, lets do it again 7 times till the batter fouls off every bal to keep himself alive and work the pitch count.
how about football? spend 35 seconds planning 5 seconds rushing the ball up the middle getting nowhere, and another 35 seconds of playing.
how about hockey? its like soccer, no scoring just skating back and forth.
basketball is kinda action back, except its just a lot of showboating, why do you think the US loses?

Well look at our dumb sports. Did you know that in U.S. Football, there are only 12 minutes of actual playing time. Only 12 minutes in a 2 hours + game. Baseball only has 20 minutes or so.
At least their games keep going, I can understand why people like it.
