what is up with this double standard, doesn't make sense?

i mean, of course you have the men sleeping around it's okay, women sleeping around are whores...not to me but that is what they say. most people say because a woman should have more respect for herself. does that mean that a man shouldn't respect himself? what if she just has a strong sexual appetite? from asking different people, that is why men do it, so why can't a woman?

I think women are more the problem with thinking a women is a whore than men are. I know little boys in High school may say things like that, but we're not talking about children,.
In the adult world I hardly ever see a man call a women a whore, or think it, unless it has to do with her personality, Which has more to do with how she acts in life than how many people she Bangs. Lets face it Men don't want to be with a women that has been with a million men, but then neither do women. I've learned that women however act like it is terrible when they know a co-worker or a friend is getting it on. I also know that I have a good Friend I work with and he has, on many occasions, been called a ho (the funny part is that the people whom say it couldn't be further wrong) and who wants to guess how many men say it?? NONE. All the while Women try to act like We create the double standard. Just like the Fat coment, Why can men be fat and women can't, Blah Blah. Because women don't want to be fat ask a thousand Men and Women what they think about it and you'll find that It is the Women who try to hold themelves to a higher standard than Men. Most Men don't care about a few extra pounds hang'n from their mid section but women do. It's the same for sex. Men don't see it as a bad thing if they've been with allot of women however allot of women see themselvs in a negative light for having done it , I mean just look at how often a woman regrets having sex with a man compared to men who regret it. There is a huge difference in how the sex's view THEMSELVES..That is the answer to your problem.
Also allot of women are so oversnsative to the notion of being called a whore that they see it when it just doesn't happen. Case in point I was joking with a woman where I work and she got offended then started to bring up my kids and how many I have, I have three sons, and I mentioned that I am Married and so since she isn't Married and has a few herself that was me calling her a Whore and blew it way outta proportion, and she brought it up. As for the Media calling promiscuous women whores..??????? What??? I've not seen it, except for a few people trying to be Funny. One thing I have noticed is that any time a famous woman is hot and the guys like her shes automatically branded a whore (i.e Brittany Spears, Christin agu-something and all the others) do you think it was men who said these things??? Come on most men wish these women where. It's kinda the same thing with guys calling an attracive guy that all the women like, a Queer.

I also despise double standards. They are ridiculous. Personally, I don't feel like those double standards will ever go away either which is sad, but possibly true. If you notice, it's the same with celebrities. If a female celebrity shows that she is sexually independent, then the media can freely call her a sl*t or a whore, but with male celebrities it just seems like that is a common practice. Hopefully, society will not always be like this, but I haven't seen too many signs of it changing.

The same reason men are allowed to be fat ... oh, excuse me! ... portly and women are not. Men are the ones who created this double standard. It is largely because they cannot control their sexual urges, where as women can. That is the primary difference. It is a man's world, and those 'ol ways of thinking are slow to change...very slow. What I often hear is "men are just driven sexually, its not their fault. It's too hard for them to stay faithful." I personally think that is the most pathetic excuse I have ever heard! Religious men throughout centuries have stayed celibate, it is not impossible. Double standards stink!
