I have been having bad luck ever since we cut this tree down. I loved it but it was clogging the routes for water to flow away from the house-causing basement to flood. Also the tree was allowing animals to get on the roof and get into attic. The tree would have taken two of me to hug it(11ft around).

LeAnne, I was thinking about planting a tree to replace it... but a little further from the house. I agree that we should replace what we take from earth.

Aww! How sad...such an old oak, murdered.
It's not really bad 'Karma', but bad practice. But, I suppose in this 'civilised society', things like that just get in the way of us raping the Earth for our conveniences...

(I'm not getting at you, by the way...I just really think that's a sad loss.)

I actual have seen some vast o.ok.wood die with some limbs cut back off no longer to point all of them.i ask your self whether you had ineffective limbs cut back off. What do you think of will ensue to the roots? They for the main section do no longer proceed to grow.they choose those leaves.finally you will finally end up having a risky tree. Its an entire interactive equipment.

I don't think it effects karma or anything of that nature when you do it for the reasons that you did it.... it is sad, however, anytime one sees an ancient tree such as that go down.
