The sounds of wild rabbits, like those of domesticated rabbits, are almost always very soft and tentative. Often you will haveto listen very carefully or you won't hear them at all.
[1] Faint grinding noise produced by jaw movement: An expression of contentment, this sound is produced primarily when the back of the rabbit's neck is scratched. It is more pronounced in some rabbits than in others.
[2] Spitting: Always a sign of aggression. A brief spitting sound may precede an attack. It has little similarity to the spitting noises made by cats, however.
[3] Brief growling: This sound is usually produced by bucks* shortly after mating.
[4] Cooing: Dwarf does* often coo when nursing their young, and rabbits may produce this sound when communicating with each other, if they feel safe, sound and secure. The range of sounds is quite broad, and the noises are similar to the cooing of doves, although the rabbits' cooing is less even and deeper in pitch."
* Males = bucks, females = does
:) thanks for the two points

Yes. Rabbits are capable of making a variety of sounds, form squeaking and screaming, to growling when angry. Of course, a rabbit's growl is nothing like a growl from a dog, but they do make low pitched grumbles when threatened, cornered, or defending territory against other rabbits.

YES Lordie, they make all kinds of sounds.
I had never even thought about it until my brother
decided (brainless thing that he is) he wanted to get
in the rabbit business.
LOL they squeak, squeal, hiss, stomp their feet, grit and
grind their teeth, make something that sounds like a purr
or vibration noise,
And if you scare one they will scream bloody murder......a Panther don't have anything on them.
That scream will shatter a glass jar (or burst your eardrums)
Seriously, they have a complete vocabulary of sounds.
The tiny babies make all the same noises, except for the scream and it will only peel paint, not burst the eardrums.

If you have a pet rabbit who's really bonded to you, if you spend a lot of time with him/her and he really gets close to you, your bunny will make a really quiet hooting or buzzing noise at you - this is a bunny's way of showing affection, and it's so very sweet!

They make a very high-pitched squeal kind of sound, but usually only if their frightened or hurt. Of course they also make a crunching sound when eating a carrot or other crunchy vegetable. LOL ;-)
