She was appearing on the David Letterman show to promote the opening of her new Broadway show based on the movie from the 80's called The Color Purple. As it turns out, the show was playing at a theater across the street. They took a camera and Dave walked her across the street amid a crowd that cheered them both. (No, really this actually happened.)
So, Oprah crossed the road to promote a pet project. Why does Oprah do anything?!
