It's just something to do. My wife and I do ballroom dancing. It's something we both enjoy and can do together, the music is good, and there's a lot of pride in looking good on the dance floor. Also, couples dancing is sexy. It keeps our sex life that much more active.

But any other activity together could be good, too. One year we bought memberships at a shooting range and went shooting together on the weekends. We both enjoyed that and had a good time. But I got tired of cleaning all our guns afterward.

Ballroom dance involves a lot of work, especially for the man. Since I have to lead the steps, I have to be practicing them all the time to keep them fresh. (My wife doesn't have to know them as well as I do, since she's following.) So after dinner I mix a drink, go down to the basement, put on some good music, and start dancing to the tunes. Sometimes my wife joins me, sometimes not. Either way, it's fun and a good way to blow off stress from working all day. Then a couple times a week we head out to the ballrooms and clubs. We've already been out on the town dancing three times this week.

You have to do something with your free time. Dancing is one of the more enjoyable pasttimes, and you can share it with the one you love. And since a lot of men don't like to dance, women tend to really appreciate a man who dances well.

I guess it is the passion for it. Some have it some don't. Fortunately, I have it. I enjoyed folk dancing as a college student and I thought that I would die if I stopped. But when I got married and had children, dancing gave way to work and responsibilities. But now that my children are all grown up and on their own I have taken up dancing lessons again. This time ballroom dancing. I totally enjoy it. I reap tremendous benefits from it - I lost a lot of weight, I am stronger and healthier, I feel sexy, I am happier, I have gained a lot of friends.

Your heart and your spirit.
We all have the ability to express our selves through dance.
How come every civilization has dance as a tradition? Because we can not stop our selves to move at the sound of the drum beat. It is part of our humanity.
I love to dance and I used to be part of a folklore dance group. I had a lot of fun and had the opportunity to travel and meet other folklore groups. This helped me confirm that we are all the same inside.
