Nah...

Mueller got 14 in 2 world cups, that French guy with 13, did that in one. Granted, its a career statistic, but I believe the French guy should have the most fame since he managed to achieve 13 goals in one world cup, thats about 2 goals a game. Thats incredible.

That being said, Ronaldo is the best striker of the recent era. No one is a better finisher than him. And in my opinion, he will move past Mueller, if not, he might be able to squeak out one more world cup he is only 29 (30?). When he passes Muellers record, he deserves to be congraduated after taking a lot of criticism for his play, his weight, blisters... etc.

All these people need to loosen up on Ronaldo. The very fact that all the people criticized him for all his faults and essentially called for his head after Brazil's first game when he didn't score, is ridiculous. He is one of the best strikers that this generation has seen, and as an American after watching the USA and Brazil games yesterday, I would kill to have on our team. He is playing his third world cup, and while he doesn't have the most goals in one world cup, that is not the statistic we are talking about. We are talking about career goals in the world cup, an event that happens every four years to prevent greats from returning tournament after tournament. 8 years ago, he was a young, talented and snot nosed little kid, and still scored 4 goals in his debut. Last world cup, he recovered from serious surgery and scored 8 goals, earning him the title of being the best of that decade. He can finish like no other, and despite all his other "problems" that people hang over his head he's great. One more goal to pass the record? It'll be done, no problem. Just wait until he starts playing like he means it, I think yesterday was only a taste.

If everything goes accordingly he still has 4 games to net one goal. I think with those odds I'd put money on Ronaldo netting one more versus betting againts the superstar.
