Who is your customer? Who would have need for your product, service or idea? Where are they? How do you get to them? Once you have determined who your market is use the phone to get the "buyers" name, if you are dealing with business clients. (Private buyers should be approached in a slightly different manner.) When qualifying who the buyer might be, be nice to their support staff, but do not be phony or try to suck up. Very obvious. So, your initial phone conversation may be something like "Hi, I'm John Doe from ABC company who might be the person in charge of ordering industrial solvents?" It takes about 90 days to establish your territory and, initially you will want to spend about 70% of your time just finding out who is the buyer. Spend the other 30% wearing out shoe leather. One last note, spend 10% of your time developing big accounts, 20% of your time developing medium accounts and 50% developing small accounts. The small accounts pay your wages, the others buy your toys. Finally, in this limited space and with limited product knowledge I can only provide these answers. You will need to fit yourself and your product. But remember, sales is a game of numbers you need to be in front of your customers to make a sale. Good luck.

useful human beings received't do this to you. As a "caller," i am going to understand the sadness the shoppers experience. after we've lost money and restoration, we experience ripped off and are disillusioned about it. i attempt to be as polite as plausible, yet I do get disillusioned at the same time as i'm instructed that there is not any longer some thing that you may do about it. i believe that there is continuously some thing you may do about it. I i'm instructed you won't be able to do some thing, I take it as you're not any further prepared to do some thing, and inspite of the actual undeniable actuality that it should be coverage, at the same time as thousands of my funds are on the line, i am going to no longer help yet get emotional, yet at maximum i'm getting a touch agency. The examples you provide are from those that are not any further truly well worth the strain. in simple terms take it, and chuckle about it afterword. i'm a former server and bartender, and that i have continuously had a good chuckle at impolite shoppers.

Do you have a brochure stating your services? If not, get one, send them out, to everyone. Word of mouth is the best way to get your business off the ground. Especially in the service industry, people talk, a lot!!

Depends on the service you are rendering, but most of the time cold calling, (telemarketing) is the usual method. Look into the laws regarding this, and the no-call lists that you must respect etc.

First it would depend on what exactly you do and where you do it.
After finding out if it is legal where you are, you can pass fliers in town, car windshields, in doors to houses and other businesses.
you can also advertise in a free weekly paper that way you are sure that it will get the widest exposure possible.

Word of mouth is the best advertisement. If you have customers now, ask for referals. And of course there is the brochures, letters and such.
