Anybody know of any players the D-Rays should accuire at the deadline or during the offseaseon. Living in Tampa and watching only really Kazmir,James Shields, and Carl Crawford, and Johnny Gomes makes games not worth going to. If the D-Rays trade CC I'm going to hate them forever.

i've heard rumors of CC being traded to either of the LA's or even to the Yankees. I could care less about Delmon Young he's an Idiot. Tampa has one of the best Minor league systems in the majors they need to get there act toghter.

Tampa Bay is still a minor league ball club. Even Lou Pinella couldn't get them to win. Have they ever finished a season over 500?? There is no one they have to trade away to bolster their club except the players you mentioned. If they retain all four, whom will they trade that any other team would want?
Sorry, but I have to call them as I see them.

Come on... you have a few more players than that. A solid middle infield of Cantu/ Lugo. If Baldelli could ever get and stay healthy, he'll be exciting. Next year, you'll have Delmon Young and BJ Upton.
Now, your pitching, on the other hand, is atrocious. Kazmir is great (angry muttering, Victor freakin' Zambrano, angry muttering) and Shields has been good this month, but you have NO bullpen and no back end of the rotation. And Shields, good as he's been, isn't a front of the rotation guy at this point.
You need pitching. Lots of it.

They really need to keep Crawford and Kazmir as they are the key to their future along with Upton and Young (if they can stay out of trouble). They really need all of this talent they have drafted to develop a little quicker and get to the big leagues, but the mai problem is the division they play in. As long as they stay in the AL east they will be behind New York, Boston, and Toronto as those teams have more money to spend to acquire the big names.

The D- Rays should follow the model of the Marlins and trade off some of their outfield surplus for some power pitching Arms. Besides Kazmir, they have nobody of any merit in the rotation.
Upton stinks as a SS, he will undoubtedly move to the OF in the majors...I'd try and hold on to Crawford, but if you can move Lugo or Huff I would do it in a heartbeat...

What is the word on what the new team name is going to be? I heard they were initially going to make the change for the 2007 season, but it's now been pushed to 2008. I personally like the nickname, but evidently people have issue with the 'Devil' portion. It's the name of the animal, though! Geesh people!

Sadly it looks like Tampa Bay is going to be getting rid of a lot of their young talent as opposed to acquiring anyone extra. I just hope they can beat the Yankees over and over again like they did last year.

I don't even know any of the D-Ray. Why do they have a team still? is it the ugly stadium that keeps them going or the constand .285 win percentage each season? or it there best prospect throwing batts at umps?
