Sounds like you're doing a good job of supervising you little piggy when she's out of her cage. :)

Guinea pigs are rodents and need to chew on things to keep their teeth from overgrowing. But carpets would be bad for her. She may not be able to pass the fibers and wind up getting constipated. So keep up the good work and don't let her eat it!

There are treats available in most pet shops that you could give her when she's out of her cage. The treat may stop her from eating the carpet.

You could also try brushing her when she's out of the cave. Maybe that will help.

Eating the carpet wont make her sick because she probably isnt really eating it. They are like rabbits they need things to chew on to keep their teeth from getting sharp and huge. Make sure she has plenty of things in her cage to chew on that way she doesnt want to do it as much when she is out of her cage. Also if its a nice warm day out take the top cage like part off of her cage sit her in the grass with that over it. They love it outside and they love eating grass. If giving her lots to chew on in her cage doesnt work I dont know what to tell you about the carpet. They are just chewers lol

You just can't! guinea Pigs eat everything they like, they can eat cables, cloths, paper, plastic and of course rugs that their instinct and cant' help it. The only way you can hel her is taking the carpet off or allowing her to exercise where no carpet is on sight. I have two guinea pigs and carpet, but just for luck they don't like chewing it.

Guinea pigs have to chew a lot because their teeth are constantly growing. You can get her a special wood block, or a salt ring at the pet store to put in her cage that she'll like to munch on. And when she's out of her cage, try giving her carrots to gnaw on - carrots are really good for guinea pigs because they're susceptible to scurvy.

Boy, she sure likes her fiber!!!! You can buy a bitter apple spray at your local pet supply store and spray it where the little nipper tends to chew. She won't like the taste and it should stop her (opperative word should). You can also try peppermint essential oil. Rodents in general hate the smell. Works on chipmunks and wood chucks! Mix about 10 -15 drops of the essential oil into a spraybottle of water. Shake to mix it in and spray where you don't want your guinea pig chewing. The smell alone will deter her. You can find essential oils at metaphysical shops and natural food stores.

I know there are sprays at the pet store to try to stop dogs from chewing stuff, you can ask if you can use that on your guiena pig.... they love to chew anything... one time a fell asleep and my cousin's guiena pig chewing off a chunk of my hair =[[

Pet stores sell a little metal fence. You can put down towels or something. She is going on your carpet. Piggies don't nest or build nests. Chewing is just part of what they do, even electrical wires. They need a constant supply of timothy hay for their teeth and digestion......Happy pigging.:>)

Please use the web below, your piggie will love you for it.

Maybe find an area with only hardwoor or linoleum to fence off for your guinea pig. I know how you feel though! I had 3 bunnies and one of them died from choking on plastic from a garbage bag. We gated an area that we made 'bunny-safe' and it worked out great! Hope this woks for you as well. Have a nice day!

go to the local animal store and tell an employee there. chances are she is instinctively trying to make a nest...so maybe buying something for her to chew and move around would be best...also, when you let her out, let her play in the kitchen or anywhere with a tile or wood floor.

From what I see its either sadie or the carpet. you could keep her locked, or only let her loose in no carpet zones.
