Boric acid. It is a white powder and it takes about 10 days to work. The roaches carry it to their nest and feed it to all the other roaches. Then there are absolutly no more roaches It works very well. Also safe to have around kids and pets. Sprinkle it behind things (frige etc.)and sweep it into cracks and crevises. I know you want them dead right now but this stuff really works. Even in South Florida where the roaches can be as big as Volks Wagons.

There is something that you can buy at a home and garden store, called "cedar chips". If you soak these in water, for about 2 hours, put it in a spray bottle, and spray it around your home, it will keep them from coming in the house. This also works for a lot of other bugs. You have to repeat this about once a week, but the smell is not as harsh as chemical bug spray. If you see that you are having issues in the home, with fleas or other pests, spray the 'juice' in the carpet and floor, or use it as a hard floor cleaner, and mop with it. I have had excellent results with the cedar chips.

I live in Florida, so I have experience in this area. The only thing I have found to work relatively foolproof is the gel that comes in a syringe made by Combat. You just put a few little dollops in areas you see the bugs and they will disappear. At least for a few months.

Boric acid (as in 20 Mule Team Borax). The roaches pick it up and carry it back to the nest with them not only killing themselves but the others as well.
Or get Bengal Roach Spray. It's expensive, but it gets the job done. I get it at Lowe's here in NC. And I know that Wal-Mart in Georgia carries it. I spray it at the base of my interior walls. As long as I do that regularly, the only roaches I see are dead.

I have never known them to cross Boric Acid (the powder form) You can get it at any hardware store/Walmart/K-mart etc. Unfortunately your yard was treated first so they are looking for somewhere to run to, and you house is the closest thing. Give it a couple of days then set off a few bug bombs in your house and then put the powder around the outside of your home. That should help you.
Good Luck :-)
You learn little tricks of the trade when you live in a tropical state. (our bugs don't get cold and die off)

we used to have a problem with roaches when i was stationed at eglin AFB. i read somewhere that if you kill a few roaches and leave them in places where u commonly see roaches, the others will steer clear. something with their sense of smell, they can sense danger when there are dead roaches around and they wont bother u as much. also, theres this red ant killer stuff. its for red ants. it smells really bad. if u put that down around your patio, roaches dont like that either.

that something your really want ever do get rid of them all.but you can hold them back or keep them out of your home.by keeping it clean.and using bombs /sprays /forgers/what ever you like but you have to stay on them every month with this stuff.i use this stuff up under and around my home "acephate 75 sp". just sprinkle a table spoon at one time in every corner of your home out side or inside .it work but it make it smell but it make a barrier around your home they want cross either.but use the forgers first to kill the one in your home first.then lay this stuff down bet your have no more bugs.i have not seen a bug in 5 years

Are they roaches or water bugs? If they are the big, flying ones they are water bugs.
I would use bombs and Combat discs for roaches. I live in Florida and we are the roach capital. That works for me.
Also, Boric Acid will kick some roach and water bug butt!!!

Once you ge them, they are near impossible to get rid of. You should call an exterminator b/c that is the only way that you are going to get rid of them. Then, you can also try the stuff (Sorry, I forgot the exact name of it) that you spread over your lawn to kill them there as well.
