Well, the stereotype answers are kind of correct actually. Just remember to go down to Orchard Road. All tourists that visit Singapore would definitely go there.

Am going with the majority vote which is the Singapore Zoological Gardens. Aside from the animals, there're lots of activities lined up there and yeah, the night safari that is guaranteed to keep your guest entertained & enthralled.

The best will be Mandai Zoo or Science Centre. But must also depend on where he/she came from. The prices are not so expensive. $15 for Zoo, can tour for one whole day. I think $28 for both Zoo and night safari. Science centre only $6. $18 for all imax movie, dinousaurs and science centre. My girlfriend likes it very much. She came from Malaysia. Hope that your girlfriend like it.

It all depends....
If your friend likes to visit historical places or museums, he/she may visit one or two of these museums/places:
- Asian Civilisations Museum (there are two ACMs, one is located at Armenian St. and the other is located at Empress Place, but I like the one at Empress Place more than the one at Armenian Street). I think this is the best museum in Singapore
- Singapore Art Museum
- Singapore Philatelic Museum
- Raffles Landing Site + River Cruise
- Sentosa Island (visit Fort Siloso and/or Images of Singapore)
- Changi Chapel and Museum
Most museums open at 10 a.m. or 12 p.m. and usually closes at 07.00 p.m., although some of them close earlier or later.
If your friend likes nature, visit one of these places:
- Singapore Zoo (best zoo I have visited)
- Night Safari (only open at nighttime)
- Underwater World at Sentosa Island
- Singapore Botanic Gardens
If your friend likes arts, see a performance at Esplanade - Theatre s on the Bay.
If your friend likes shopping, go shopping at some of the malls on Orchard Road.
If your friend likes dining, tell him/her not to be worry. Singapore has a lot of great restaurants. I like to eat at Fishermen's Village by the beach at Pasir Ris.
If your friend likes culture, he/she may visit one of these ethnic districts:
- Arab Street (also known as Kampong Glam)
- Little India
- Chinatown
If your friend likes science, he/she should visit Singapore Science Centre.
Transportation options: Take the Mass Rapid Transit (MRT). Cheap, fast, and of course, clean!!!
Other choices includes: taxi and buses
But the Your Essential Singapore Guide (the official guide to Singapore) says that if you have one day in Singapore, you should visit:
- Singapore Botanic Gardens
- Chinatown
- Little India
- ACM at Empress Place
- Boat Quay (near Raffles Landing Site)

Now your friend can choose....
Believe it or not, my favorite place in Singapore is...... Singapore Changi Airport itself! It is the place where you can explore the nature, surf the internet, relax, dine, shop, watch a movie, and even go swimming! I think Changi Airport is the miniature of Singapore.

As for myself when i go Singapore I must visit Bugis Junction for food, shopping and entertainment in one place.
