Let's not HATE each other..?

Question

I hear rockers say 'rap sucks', and i also hear rappers say 'rock sucks'...and so and so. I like both but i think when some rockers say 'rappers have no talent' they use prejudice, i mean kamon it's not just about writing rhymes it's also about knowing how to do it in the mike, take the Notorious Big or Nas are you going to tell me they have no talent? Are you going to tell me you could rap how they do or did on the mike?..I would like to ask to rap-haters - rock-lovers if iven thou they don't like rap they agree that it DOES take talent to rap GOOD on a mike, forget lyrics im talking about rapping... what you think?

I like both rock and rap. And yes, I agree that rap does take talent. I mean, you gotta have good rhythm and a good voice, just like singing. I mean, I've heard people that can't do it try to do it and it sounds like poopie.

I mean, look at freaking Kanye West - Through the Wire....now, that's some talent right there....rapping with your freaking mouth wired shut!!

I don't hate any particular type of music except techno, because it'll give me a migraine. I say to anybody who thinks that it takes no talent to rap or sing rock n' roll, then they are welcome to get up on a stage any night of the week and give it their best shot. It is going to suck if you do not know what you're doing either way. I don't like gangsta rap or heavy metal because I don't like the lyrics about killing everybody and all the drugs,etc... However, I LOVE old rock (Aerosmith, ELO, et al.) and I LOVE hip-hop/rap (Jay-Z, OutKast, Ludacris). But then again, I am in Atlanta and you have all kinds here. I just think anybody that claims to hate anything before attempting it is just ignorant!!

Yep...it takes talent to rock out,too, but I think some people dont like rap just because of the way it sounds, not because they think rappers suck. Its all about personal opinion really.

It's all about balance and being open minded...I listen to everything from Rap to Rock...then Reggae and Pop....music is like food...give me some Italian, a little French, alot of Soul, a dash of Carribean, plenty of Asian, and then I'll try some South American.....if the music is good, there is a nice vibe there....I'll put it on my IPod and take it with me everywhere....that's the cool thing about IPod and mp3 players...you really see how your own mind works and what tastes you have....I got some Jay-Z, Red Hot Chili Peppers, Earth, Wind , & Fire, and Duran Duran on there.....to quote the mighty George Clinton..."Free your mind and your *** will follow!".....One Nation Under A Groove, Baby!

Now thatz what i was waiting 4 from a long time.....keepi'n it real my ****-a mystikal(4rom your avatar).But as u said letz be honest and fair,i mean i'm hiphop fan and find that 2pac iz the best in westcoast and biggie smallz in the eastcoast but there iz no much that big difference between them...right...!.When i say i'm a hiphop fan i don't mean that i'm racist against other genres such as pop,ROCK,rnb and even techno(i hate it though)But sometimes i use 2 listen all of them.Letz face it man i love briteny spearz and her songz....she's white and i'm black and a hiphop fan and she don't like hiphop like most of the people do.Emin3m iz another big example u see i find him one of the biggest rappers of all time(not only among white rappers)I don't say that okay he's a white rapper then he suckz he can't rap-THATZ NONSENSE BULLSH-IT!Other example iz blue they are rnb/soul band(not hiphop)But i'm dying 4 their songz which are marvelous even though 4 of them are white and 1 balck i don't care.....in other wordz ***** racism and letz not hate each othet.Just like 2pac said(R.I.P) we need some changes though.......i agree with u 100% and thankz 4 being honest mystikal.By the way tell master p that i miss him and the whole nolimit family....peace dog...!

its not that rappers don't have talent (trust me, i could NEVER rap). its the lyrics that they use. i dont like new-school rap because all they ever talk about is get drunk or high, shake that a$$ and drop your drawers girl. i prefer old-school rap because they were intelligent back then, and not as dirty.
