I'm getting another tattoo on my calf tomorrow. Its going to be the outline of a star. In the star, I want Van Gogh's painting of "Starry Night". Will a tattoo artist be able to do this easily? You think that all the colors will run together and look like crap as the years pass?

If you get an experienced artist they can do anything.I have 5 tats and they are all pretty amazing but I prefer black tats because over the years they fade a little but still look great.Colour tats need retouching up about every 5 years or so.Depending on how fast the colour fades(sun tanning isn't good 4 them, put on sun screen)I have seen some pretty aw some art work done on people and it just blew my mind away.Would love to see your tats..email me if you wish!!

You better be going to a good tattoo artist, that sounds difficult (but cool). Hopefully he will tell you if he has the talent for that undertaking. The colors won't run together as the years pass, but they will fade.

tattoo artists and what they use are getting better all the time so probably not on the fading , i know some one who has the starry night on his arm and it is beautiful you just have to find a really good tattoo artist

the colors bleeding into each other sounds like a possibility! Other than that the idea is awesome and I am sure good and busy artists will surely be able to pull it off. All the best.

i think it will be really hard for the tattooist to do. the only way you are gonna be able to fit it in a star anyways is if its a huge thng allover your back. i think you should get something better than a star with a painting init. it might fade and look smearded too.my dadhad atatoo and it smeared and looked like sh*t. get a different tatoo.

Better find a kick *** artist. That detail will be hard to get. I think if it's done well though, it shouldn't run together. Just tell whoever to be honest, if they think they can't do it, they need to tell you so you don't screw up your leg. Nice choice though, love that painting. And have fun getting your skin punctured over and over! :)
