I've found my tire pressures cause me the most noticable difference in performance. When things feel sluggish, I find my pressures are a bit low. Air temperature, road temperature, the make of the tire, and the tire pressure, all come into play.
You will find a sticker in the driver's side door jamb that lists the recommended tire pressure for your car. Engineers came up with that for the best performance for their design and it does not necessarily reflect the maximum pressures recommended by the tire manufacturer. If you want better performance and better mileage, pump the tires to the tire manufacturers maxium pressure as listed on the tire itself.
A number of other things could be causing your problem as well but when things are good and then bad and then back to good, I would suspect either the fuel, the weather, and/or the tires.
Good luck!

you probably need a tune-up, or check fuel-filter, and if theres dirt in your fuel-filter turn the heat wide-open and nail the gas, do this several times... I take no responsibility in the future happenings after you try this like the following: speeding ticket, wreckless driving ticket, or any type of incedent, OHHHH K now thats out of the way... L83R's

You need to change your spark plugs and probably your air and fuel filter too. Also, make sure your putting at least mid-grade gas in your car. Only the crappiest engines are made to run on 85 octane.

Car engines run better when the weather is cold, and runs slow on hot days, see if its that. Oh and change the oil, it keeps your car happy!

Are you on any psychotropic medication? Perhaps the dosage needs to be adjusted. If you're not on meds....then all you probably need is tune-up and your carburetor adjusted.
