It seems every race in America can have pride in their race, You see other races , for example I see "asian pride" on cars every where in my city. Is it wrong to say your white and your proud? And if you're not white what do you think about a white person saying they're proud to be white?

I am proud of my ethnicity and being white. Lots of colleges and corporations try to make whites out to be bad now because of affirmative action and to let minorities "get ahead" regardless of intelligence or skill levels. Wasn't it the Egyptians that slaved the Jews, wasn't it the Africans selling their brother as slaves (and still do), wasn't it Mexico that made people run to the border and jump the fence, wasn't it perverted Indian guys emailing me all the time.
Shame on me for being whitey!!

There’s nothing wrong in taking pride in ones ethnicity.
The only time when I find myself cringing is when people make generalizations and stereotypical examinations of someone else’s ethnicity (or racial slurs). In America (speaking as someone who lives here) it seems pretty common to see this type of comparison. Comments like “those black’s this… and those Indians that…” it’s done to make ones own race seem superior. And even then the comparison among white people doesn’t even stop there. Italians, Jews, Polish, Irish, Germans and more have each been the target of ethnic stereotyping or worse throughout history. As a Native American I’ve seen this type of thing a lot.
I guess the reason why so many people take offense to someone being proud of their white origins is because of the KKK and other ‘White Power’ organizations. I think the day we stop making racial comparisons will probably be the day we discover some other intelligent race out there in the universe who come here to kick out butts or the day we all become blind to the color of our skin.

I guess there’s no problem with being proud to be white, but the comparison could be then made that you are describing a physical characteristic as a subject for taking pride in. Being white is nothing more than the physical characteristic of being of a race of people whose bodies produce a reduced amount of melanin. If that is the basis of your comparison, than I suppose an albino would have the greatest reason for being proud. The question could then be made as to whether one couldn’t be proud of having unusually long thumbs or having abnormally small feet.

I am proud to be me. To me, the spirit of the soul, good deeds, good thoughts.....are what a person should be proud of. No matter what the race or color.
30 yrs ago, I was 9. My father was irish decent, fair-skinned and redhead. My mother, dark-skinned and hungarian decent. I had spent the entire summer outside. The result, I was black. My hair also black. When school started, my classmates threatened and harassed me. The prejudice I endured for having a dark tan, was evident from the teachers as well. I learned at that age, how wicked people are. Proud to be white?....not if I am categorized with that kind of wickedness. (wish I could still tan that well though).

VERY proud to be white. The problem is that in this country today, everything is slanted to the blacks, wetbacks and all the other trash invading our land, and the white people are supposed to just sit back and swallow it all. We have bet, black history month etc, etc---try even mentioning a white history month, or a white entertainment network and the idiots come out of the woodwork!!!

I'm not "proud" to be Caucasian. Pride is what caused Satan to fall from grace.
I had nothing to do with my race. I respect other races, as well. There are certain ones I wish I was born into; such as the Italian or Grecian, but I'm happy with who I am.

I guess I would be uncomfortable to say I'm proud to be white because people would interpret that as racist. But I am happy to be white.

I have one question that has always bothered me. Why or how could you be proud of something that was a function of your gene's at conception? YOU weren't even there. If you want to be proud of something make it something you have done! The way you have lived your life Your accomplishments not some genetic mutation you happened to inherit.

I am proud to be me. I guess that makes me proud to be white. Whites may have the biggest crime history but why stereotype. We are not all like that.
