I had some friends sign a shirt at the end of camp. If I wash it, I'm afraid it will smudge or disappear. I've heard of ironing it or washing it in a vinager solution.

Iron it but put another cloth on top and let the iron sit on each section for a few seconds. then throw it in the dryer for about 30 minutes on high heat

Vinegar or salt water will help set the color, but it sounds like the other ladies have some good suggestions as well. I always let my blue jeans sit in some vinegar water after I buy them. I can wear them, then a year later or so they still look almost like new.

You are right, it needs to be heat set to help prevent fading. You can either put it in your clothes dryer or iron it. If you wash it without setting it first, you might lose the signatures.
