if you're an engineering student, you should already be taking it.

It isn't easy. Your own abilities in math will determine whether it is easy or hard. I found the ACT was a good predictor of the relative ease of my college courses.

There are three levels of calculus you will need. General calculus teaches you the fundamental principles of the subject and the proofs for each principle. You will also learn several "definitions" of common calculus operations. Multivariate calculus teaches you how to manipulate several variables at once. Differential equations teaches you how to solve complex equations for each variable, and translate common physical situations into math.

You will need to be proficient in all of this to really perform well in engineering.

You are an engineering student and calculus is alien to you. Highly surprising. Neways it is fairly simple though a bit too monotonous. It does not offer the same level of fun neither the level of insight as does Number theory or the likes. Though it can be cumbersome at times and hence some may find it difficult. It is mostly taught in a rote fashion in colleges which to me is simply stupid. Try your hand at some book dealing with the basic approach of calculus and you will fall in love with the topic; though I still find Number theory more interesting

On further thought you don't really need to love the topic or fall in love with it for engineering purposes. Just being familiar in the rote format may be sufficient

When I first went to college, I had not even heard of calculus and the other swear words: analytical geometry. Those courses were very hard for me.
You have an advantage. You can get familiar with higher math before getting into it. You will need this foundation to get through later engineering courses.

hmm.... a million) chem (functional and rather common to appreciate) 2) creative writing (exciting! <3 english) 3) calc (exceedingly functional, yet i'm particular i'd be poor at it... the present calc type has an average of fifty 2 D:, or perhaps ppl who were given 90s in universal math are in undemanding words getting 80s/70s) 4) comp engineering (no longer a lot interest, plus it variety of feels not common. i'm taking computer programming today and that is not common enuf via the indisputable fact that is...)

Like most of the branches of Mathematics Calculus is also very easy. Don't try to memorize anything other than formulae. Try to understand the meaning of what you learn. Find how the rules and formulea originate. and you will find Calculus is a fun. I believe it is the easiest and the most glamorous part of Mathematics.

The difficulty of each Calculas class will depend on how your mind works. If you tend to have a more visual thought process, Cal I & III will be relatively easy. Cal II and Diff. Eq. are easier for those that see the world with a more analytical interpretation. If you're lucky and have a thought process that uses a mixture of both then, it will be a cake walk.

no

its just like any other math and if you atleast have the gumption to be an engineering student, you can do calculus 1-3 and then differential equations. the math is easy, its the concepts that will slow you down.

it is the easiest subject if you can understand the concepts but if you can't then allah ke bande ham log...............
and by the way it is difficult to master the topic.
