Most have been preparing and taking action on measures to protect their cities, for years. Building sea walls, water pumps, zoning preservation land and attempt to slow down coastal erosion. However, we will always be at the mercy of Mother Nature. If you build a house: at the base of a volcano, there's a greater chance of lava damage. Side of a mountain, falling down the mountain. On the coast & below sea level... big waves and flooding.

To all those idiots who blame Bush and FEMA regarding Katrina-New Orleans, the City and State government failed those citizens. Those people were told to leave the city, get out, walk if you have to. Don't tell me they couldn't, they were walking just fine after the storm.
Some Reps and Senators from Louisiana claimed after Katrina, they've been asking for Federal help to rebuild the levees for 5 years. Well if that's true, at what point as a State Rep, do you take state funds and start a project that you know will save lives in the case of natural disaster? During the 5yrs Reps spent lobbying the Federal gov, Reps also gave the New Orleans Saints almost $20mil a year, nearly $100 million. $100 million buys a lot of dirt.

FEMA and the fed govt. will wait until it is a disaster before reacting. Note New Orleans. These *** clowns never do preventive maintenance. They always look to close the door after the horse has already left the barn

Rising sea levels? What are you talking about? Some crap about global warming from melting ice caps, right? Wait...you've been listening to Al Gore again, haven't you?
