I recently started a job two months ago, at first it was ok, everybody seemed nice and the work was really easy. i started to notice things, like staff gossiping, and saying snyde remarks when they think i can not hear. Also four out of the six bosses swear at everyone, calling people fu*king idiots and ars3holesand when they are not swearing at you thet are throwing faxes in your face.
This morning was the last straw, a boss accused me of giving him wrong infomation, it turned out that his client had given me the wrong info and i was not at fault, my boss still insisted on an apology and a confession that i was wrong and will not don it again, i refused so he went to the practice manager and complained.
I do not know what to do, i have too much pride to be treated like an idiot, should i walk out today and not come back. I have a job interview for somewhere else on monday.

The irony is that i work for a solicitors firm that deal with employment law and unfair treatment of employees.

if i where you I'd start to look for employment ads.... I've worked under such circumstances too and I can tell you: it's not worth to stay in a place where you don't like to work at. We spend 1/3 of our day in the office, so it's important whether we feel ok there or not.
Still, don't make sudden actions, first try to find a new place, then leave the place....

best of luck, hope everything turns out ok.

First of lezah, you will get gossipping and snide remarks in any job! But I am sure you are aware of that.

As for your bosses; nightmare situation girl! Is there anyone you could complain to? Or would that just make your life worse than it already is?

I think the only thing you can do is to look for another job, let's face it, we spend most of our lives in work so if you're not enjoying it then you're going to be pretty miserable for most of the time!

Hopefully this job interview will give you the clean break from your present employers, if you dislike your current job you're more likely to get wound up and snap at someone and you may end up being sacked.

Jump before you are pushed is always a good thing to remember.

Some employers think it's ok to verbally abuse their employees. It's a sad fact. The other sad fact is that co-workers will gossip and back stab...the more people in the workplace, the more back stabbing occurs. That is their own jealousy and insecurity that fuels that fire. You will find this no matter where you go. The employer problem, no...not all employers are like that.
Keep in mind that you are who you are and not what you do for a living...do not define yourself by your job. A job is just a means to make money to survive. With this in mind, put your resume out there and find a new job. This one is not worth the heartache....just make sure you're leaving this one to go to a new one...you don't want to be out of work and out of money. Good luck.

I would definitely forget about this job when I got a job interview for somewhere else anyways. However, you might want to wait a bit longer cause you don't know what's going to happen with your job interview yet. I'm not you, so I can't make the final decision for you. If you really feel treated unfairly and don't like the working environment, then you may want to quit. Good luck with your job interview. Hope you'll get that job, so you can say adios to this bunch of jerks.

Go to citisens advice. You may have grounds for suing him for harrassment Should not have to happen of course but far too many bosses seem to think they can do and say what they wany purely because they are paying your wages. More people should stand up for thier rights and maybe this sort of thing would stop. Been there done it got the t-shirt.

You could go to the court of human rights for being treated and humiliated like that!

It's disgusting, and I suggest you find another job immediately.

Nobody deserves to be treated like an idiot, sworn at or forced to confess to something that was not their fault!

Never quit as a matter of principle if it costs you money. Quit on your terms not theirs.
Secure the other job first
