Someone who has feelings of love (such as wanting to mate) for someone of the same sex and not for someone of the opposite sex.
These days the act of same sex intercourse is called Homosexual but it could be that they have no feelings for each other and so are not 'gay' or 'homosexual'. Also some people feel love toward both sex's and so are 'bisexual'.
The Romans had 'gay' sex. They would have a Wife, and a Mistress, and also a Male slave who would help them out.
So I recon it all depends on how you preseve it...
