The tabloids have hyped up Wayne Rooney, putting a lot of pressure on him to perform. However, when he started against Sweden, I think he was great, not as good as he can be, but that's to be expected, he's just come off an injury. I think he's recovered better than Owen did, because Rooney was getting forward easier, and almost scoring some goals. It'll be a shame if we don't go any further, because the World won't be able to see Rooney at his fittest, when Rooney is at his fittest, he'll be bashing down those defences, I can't wait.

As for the 90 minutes, Sven likes taking Rooney off a lot, even when he was fit in Euro 2004, he kept taking him off when he didn't need to be taken off. So, no, I don't think he'll play for 90 minutes.

Well quite frankly I am fed-up with all this Wayne Rooney talk. I mean people are acting as though he is the only bloke in the team. And the way he had a tantrum when he came off the pitch on Tuesday I mean, that was plain stupid. Should have left him on there to keel over and break his foot again if thats what he wanted.. With an attitude like that his career will be over in a couple o years. I think they should give Theo Walcott a try cause he might have the wanting in him to do a good job as he is trying to prove himself and everything... and Yes I am English and Yes I do believe that we can hold that cup above our heads with pride !!!!!!

Wayne has an outside chance of making the Arsenal match. He will now start full training this week-end. It is a case of fingers crossed. Knowing the boy like he does Moysey reckons Wayne could be back a bit sooner than first we thought and the break could do him some good.

I am in total agreement with others but can I just add I read on ceefax yesterday that a player from Ecuador called DE la Cruz said he was going to kick Wayne`s foot just to see if he has recovered so I suppose if he can stay out of his way he will be okay. And NO I don't think Wayne could ever let us down

If Ecuador is playing well....yes, he will stay in. Wayne Rooney is not your average player. He plays on emotion. He was mad at himself for his play in the last game. You will not see the same Wayne Rooney next time. I think he'll have a goal and will play well against the Ecuadorians.

Why do you think he will let us down - he is the best player we have, and is getting his fitness back - I reckon he will play the whole 90 mins and hopefully put in the type of performance that will build confidence in the team, but that all depends if Sven is brave enough to drop Lampard or Beckham or both.

desirable in Europe? Hahahahahaahahahaha. he isn't even the desirable in EPL or maybe Manchester United. Your lot could sell the over-hyped rubbish to three unlucky club that believes the hype, take the money, run and in no way look lower back.

As a Scotsman I dont really give a s**t, but i've said before he's your best player bar none, and with mr goodie now fcuked his knee you dont have much option. take him off in the 70th min, give young theo a run sven, were never going to understand your choice of squad members if we dont see them!!!!!
