I liked the original Star Wars because of Han Solo - I think he made the trilogy funny and interesting - why did they mention him in the 3rd Sith film?

Han Solo is NOT mentioned in the the new SIth movie... (To fix my statement on the last sentence). What disturbes me is that almost every character is there- even chewbaka,,, why leave Solo (which is a major character in the story later on) out? Anyone has some information regarding this from the writers or production?

Chewbacca is there because Wookies were involved in the big war. Also Wookies live a very long time. Han Solo had no bearing on Anakin or Darth Sidious. He only comes into play as the seemingly randomly chosen guy to take them to Alderaan in episode 4.

Han Solo only made it in as a chance meeting. In A New Hope, he was just going to give Luke and Obi Wan a ride as sort of a taxi. Just so happens, he joined the Rebellion after that, probably to stay close toe Lea. They mentioned him because he owed Jaba the Hut money and was be searched for.

Personally, I think Lucas already tried to tie in too much of prequel with original. Who cares that the Tantive IV is the same vessel that carries them in Ep.III and if blasted in the opening sequence of Ep. IV? I didn't...

You can't tie every little strand of the original to the prequels, it would be stupid. Let's show Han as a child running across the screen, what value does that serve? Jango Fett, Boba Fett, Butt Fett...

If you want to tie everything, then let's show the Ewok world and how they get blasted, let's show how that smuggler that's wanted in several star systems is actually a good guy in the past. Let's show how Lando is actually the son of Mace Windu. Let's show the origin of the other five bounty hunters that they had in Empire... it's just too much. We don't need to know how everything is connected to everything else.

This isn't the six degrees of separation to Kevin Bacon.
