the smaller tank is 900L and the bigger tank is 1200L

Tank 1 = T
Tank 2 = T+300

(2/3) T = (1/2) (T+300)
(2/3) T = (1/2) T + 150
(4/6) T = (3/6) T + 150
(1/6) T = 150
T = 900

x = y + 300
(2/3)y = (1/2)x

(2/3)y = (1/2)(y + 300)
(2/3)y = (1/2)y + 150
multiply everything by 6
4y = 3y + 900
y = 900

x = y + 300
x = 900 + 300
x = 1200

ANS : 1200L and 900L

I don't really understand what you say, but I'll try, and please give me 10 points if I am right.

x + 300 = y
(2/3)x = (1/2)y

(4/3)x = y

So (4/3)x = x + 300

(4/3)x - x = 300

x ( 4/3 - 1) = 300

(1/3)x = 300

x = 900 #

y = x + 300

= 900+300

= 1200 #
