The girl is owed an open communicatiopn from you as to your feelings and the reasons why.
Tell her how you feel and ask her what she prefers you to do with the gift, its ger token of love and affection.

I think that you should send the gift back to her. You should tell her that you only want to be friends. Ask your self what you would want if you were her. Would you want to know or would you want to be lead on. Your playing with her feelings. Feelings are very painful so don't make her hurt more than you have to.
