Not all Digital cameras are designed to be used as webcam, not really sure why, except that in high end digital cameras especially SLR 's the CCD they use is of Full Frame type wihch does not allow online viewing. Not sure why you would want to use a excellent camera like DSC-W100 as webcam when you can get a excellent webcam @ Rs.1000/-

It's quite possible you can use the video camera as a webcam. If you have a transformer power supply to run the camera (batteries dont last). A suitable connection between your camera and pc (Firewire or USB) All you need to do is have it recognised by operating system as a plug-in device. Then when you operate you web program you can choose the device (video cam) as your webcam.
