please go to a doctor NOW ! there can be many causes a doctor will check blood pressure and heart. blood tests will show if you have to much or to little of anything. a doctor should be able to stabilize you. they may even do a brain scan to see if it is a electrical short or other going on.

There are many reasons that causes lack of sleep/rapid heart beats.
A few ideas that you should explore:
Before bedtime stay away from anything that contains caffeine, nicotine and alcohol at least two hours before bedtime. Don't eat large meals, only have small snacks.
Turn off the tv, instead read a book.
Turn off any bright lights only use low or dimmed lights.
You may also be lacking in certain vitamins, which may cause rapid/slow heart beats. Check with your doctor or a dietician regarding balanced meals.
I also recommend getting an EKG to rule out any heart problems!
If your body is tired, but your mind is racing, you could try relaxation tapes.
An hour before bedtime, turn off any phones and turn on the answering machines.
If you sleep on your chest, doing so can put strain on your heart and breathing, try sleeping on your side.
If you take any medications, ask your doctor if any of your meds can cause sleep disruptions, and if they can be moved to an earlier time.
I highly recommend getting the EKG done, don't wast any time in doing this.

Also see a sleep specialist, they can also give you more info than I could, especially if there is something physically wrong. Such as sleep apnea, blocked nasal passages, etc.
Good luck.

Chromatherapy can be used to treat both emotional and physical sleep disturbances, and may involve exposure to colored lights, massages using color-saturated oils and salves, meditation and visualization of certain colors, or wearing certain colors of clothing.
