Try cleaning it with a Clean kit which you can find in computers shops. Good luck!

Right click on my computer icon and select "Manage", in the left pane select "device manager" and un-install the DVD drive and then reboot (restart) the computer. you should get a "Found New Hardware" balloon in the tray. Let it cycle through, do nothing. this reloads the drivers for the DVD RW. Use the same brand name Cds and DVDs that you did BEFORE this problem occurred.DVD RWs are very picky about the color of dye that the manufacturer uses on their DVDs and Cd's.

All I can say about that problem is either the ROM needs cleaning or is just really defective.. Because once a ROM's lens is not reading there is no way you can fix it unless your the son of the Company that sells the ROM. eheheheh..
Just try cleaning it by the use of the lens cleaner which many computer stores sell...... Or turn it over the store where you bought it because they can replace it if your ROM is in WARRANT....
good luck =)
