Yes they can, However this has to be ageed between both teams and would only be if the game was a friendly. I've done it.
Also in many testimonail matches for a player It has been known that they play one half for one team then swap at half time and play for the other side.
In a normal domestic league game the answer would be no.

No, once the substitution has been made, that player leaves the pitch and cannot be brought back on. In rugby they have a 'blood substitute' where an injured player can be temporarily replaced, but this is not the case in football.
Not at the moment anyway...

No. The maximum of substitutions is 3. If after that a player gets injured you have to play with 10 players.

No, if for no other reason than the names of the substitutes eligible to come on as substitutes during the game must be pre-notified to the match officials. Therefore the player coming off will not form part of that list, and thus is ineligible to return as a substitute.

Yes and No.-> a subsitituted player may not return to the field of play in the same game for the same team. Technically speaking he may only do so, if he joins the opposing team during the interim. I have seen this done and it is quite legal under the FIFA rules.

No the only time a player can rejoin the game is if he/she is injured and comes off for treatment! as long as the player is not replaced he/she can rejoin the game if able to continue!
