Visit the Registrar Office/s in the District Council of Liverpool to first find the persons records of birth and death.
This Officer will be able to direct you to look through the records to find greater detail such as the cause of death.
If an inquest was help publicly and investigated by the coroner of that time this will state the cause and time of his death. .
It might also help if you knew the Parish where this person belonged as someone may be able to help you with records of the death and burial place.
