Yes,

The cold war in theory was the arm build up, and conquest of third world nation in an attempt to for the capitalist countries to prevail over the Communist one.

Most people see the fall of the Berlin wall and elections in Russia as the end of the cold war. And china's number 5 trading partner is Wall Mart.

However,
A cold war is being prevented as we discuss this with control over nuclear weapons in both Iran and Korea.

Should those countries ever obtain weapons capable of hurting our country or allies, it will technically be a cold war as opposed to hot. A hot war would be the active use of such weapons.

If the cold war is seen in terms of two world powers fighting for economic and militaristic dominance then your best bet is to look China....its economy is maturing and should it one day decided to rival the US it would not be a joke. it has a serious potential to start a new cold war.

with regards to Communism. In Russia it was never pure Communism or in any other country for that matter. Wherever there are poor people in large large numbers with an ineffective government there is bound to come a breaking point. Should those countries build their economies through military industrialism.......then were back where we started from 40 years ago......

The post-World War II Cold War between the West and the USSR can't happen again in exactly the same way, but "cold war" is a daily fact of life across the globe. The United States currently conducts cold wars against nations which it perceives to have conflicting interests or goals: Cuba, North Korea, Iran, and Venezuela come to mind.

Yes, it will be considered unique and i don't think it will happen again because the cold war was a stand off between two superpowers that were equal in strenght, the US and the USSR. it was a time of saber rattling and posturing and allot of shouting because both sides were afraid to commit to an all out nuclear war, which would destroy both powers. now the only super power is the US and it wont allow another the possibility of a cold war.

It has potential to happen again, however, it was very unique, you had right wing presidents that had shown progress with their policies with the Soviets, then you had left wing presidents that just were **** to the whole war. That means Carter!

The man who we should all thank for our very lives is Ronald Reagan! This man beat the Soviets and ended the Evil Empires reign of Terror forever.

Now if this is to ever happen again we need a leader like President Ronald Reagan was basic terms here President Bush.

President Bush is known as "The Second Coming Of Ronald Reagan," from the way he handles the war on terror.

I don't think it will happen again as we live in a post-ideological era. Not too many peoples believe there is anything much better than a mixed economy and representive goverment anymore. The PRC goverment is ostensibly communist, but even they don't really in it. So without the idea that communism, fascism or whatever is inherently superior to free-market liberal societies there won't be another cold war. That's not to say that there will never be friction between say the US and China, just that the Chinese don't have it in their heads that communism is going to lead to inevitable victory.

How do you outline "win" or "victory"?. i'm particular you comprehend that it isn't about protection rigidity fulfillment or gaining territory on my own. in undeniable actuality that except triumphing battles, the enemy's renounce ought to come alongside with it (formally ending the conflict). that is the case with international conflict I and international conflict II. even if, in Vietnam, Iraq, and Afghanistan there is not any such renounce through the enemy, inspite of the U. S. protection rigidity triumphing the battles. So, the combating is going on and no one is conscious at the same time as all of it ends. Vietnam turned right into a lost conflict in spite human beings protection rigidity victories in conflict. Afghanistan became also a lost conflict for the Soviets inspite of Soviet protection rigidity victories of their battles there. Why?. that is because the enemy did not renounce and they outlasted the more effective better armies.

i don't think it was a unique period, nothing specific comes to mind now, but i know that it's happened before especially in ancient civilizations like rome, though it usually ended in war. i think it could happen again.
