There is a metaphysical connection - body/mind/spirit. In order to develop and grow, it is necessary to tend to all spheres of influence.

Physical education provides the obvious - muscle toning, education and information about body development and wellness. It also provides invaluable social skills. What you learn in physical education will assist you with team building and general public interaction. This is particularly important in today's world where so many of us are computer people and have limited face to face exposure.

Because America is FAT. If people knew how to integrate exercise and diet into their lives, we wouldn't have this epidemic.

more emphasis should be on physical fitness than sport though i believe
