Id say its your choice my friend, Working in the USPS you see a lot of vets. They would be a good source to talk to.
I would tell you if you were my son to Join the Navy, learn as much as you can, travel the world. The money thing seems like a lot, but look at it this way You will get training equivalent to collage courses, Room and board, Free travel around the world with accommodations, a tight nit family, retirement, stories, and more. The navy has the fastest advancement of any branch. Stay physically and mentally strong. and Good luck on your choice, either way it will be a good one.

It really all depends on the kind of person you are really if you want to serve your country there is no shame in that actually quite noble, there is however, a lot more risk involved than a ptf mail handler. The main point is its a government job well they both are really, both offer health insurance and benifits one is just a bit more physical than the other. I think the least amount of time you can sign up for is 4 years (atleast thats what I know it is for the airforce) I really don't want to tell you not to go to the navy because of all the things happening around the world as we speak...but it really is your choice. The mail job is a steady job its probably close to your house and you have your family around maybe even a girlfriend...if not then consider it. Just make sure you do all your homework chances are you have...before you make the decision. Think about what you will be giving up and if its more than what your willing to do then I would suggest staying where you are. Do you go to college or would you be asking because your not sure if thats really what you want to do and you know that if you choose to go to the navy they would pay for schooling? It really all comes down to you just sit down and weigh out all the options then make the decision thats really all I can say.

i don't believe of all and varied should be 'grateful' for a job in that they ought to positioned up with adverse pay and prerequisites in simple terms because thousands and thousands are unemployed. each body merits a respectable days pay for a respectable days paintings. workers are taking income of the 'recession' through inquiring for more effective hours with out pay or bonus (except for those 'fat Cats' on the proper) because they comprehend workers are scared for his or her pastime. that is not in simple terms the positioned up workplace - I propose organizations regularly. E.g the three% annual payrise in my husband's contract is at the moment 8 months previous due! My brother works as a postie and particularly than having his own 'round' he's now component of a 'team' that percentage a number of rounds. curiously this makes shipping more effective effectual. in reality, if someone is on vacation or off ill or in the journey that they do no longer have an finished team employed then the different individuals of the ought to hide that round yet no more effective pay. that is in undemanding words between the gripes. they have also been instructed that they can't bypass homestead early in the journey that they end handing over yet ought to 'make themselves functional through sweeping up or some thing'. infrequently an incentive to accelerate and get those letters presented right away! i do not unavoidably trust all their calls for yet experience until eventually you're doing the pastime and in touch with the action you won't be able to understand the completed tale and the media are infrequently universal for being independent!

Postal job postal job postal job! A government job like that is usually a cushy one. It may be boring but at least there is no stress. In my area the waiting list for a postal job is TWO YEARS. I wish I could have one instead of the healthcare occupation I have. Talk about stress.

Go to the Navy. More opportunities and chances to advance your career, if you don't get killed first that is. But you're taking the same chance at the post office, so go with the Navy since they pay more.
