When I was doing my final exams at university I was stressed out with insomnia... My twin sister sent me a box in the post wrapped in paper with a red cross painted on... inside was a mix tape of soothing songs she'd made, a bar of chocolate with a label saying "Eat me", a box of Valerian tea bags with a label saying "Drink me", aromatherapy bubble bath with a label saying "Don't drink me!". I burst into tears when I opened it!

i took my two year old swimming the other day and as other parents will no it is a strain and a lot of hard work at times!
i was in a cubicle with her and totally oblivious to everything and everyone else around me and was chatting away with her and joking about to keep her and myself sane!!
when we were dressed, i sat her outside the cubicle by a mirror with my cousin whilst i got our stuff together from cubicle and an eldery lady stuck her head in the cubicle and said she had been listening to me and my daughter! she said that she thought i was amazing and really liked to hear me talking to her and engaging her rather than the usual snaps of "hurry up" that some parents do!!
i know its not much but im very insecure about my parenting skills so for a stranger to come up to me and say i handled a situation really well and that i was a good mum, really made my day!
:)
simple things and all that, i know its not as good as all the others on here!

I've just split up with my husband. We've been together 9 years and married 4. My friend heard about it and she sent me this in a message...
When you are sad I will dry your tears,
When you are scared I will comfort your fears.
When you are worried I will give you hope,
When you're confused I will help you cope.
When you're lost, and can't see the light,
I'll be your beacon shining bright.
This is my oath I pledge till the end,
Why you may ask, because I'm your friend!!!
How wonderful is that!!!??? This is a friend that I see very rarely, however, when I REALLY needed her, she was there!!!

My sister in law framed 2 pictures, one of my and her at my hen night, and one of me and my fiance at her wedding, and left them in my porch for me to find, along with a little book called 'brides', full of quotes, etc for weddings. I was so touched and when I called her to say thanks she said she did it just because. Shes such a sweetie!
