Depends on what your op sys is for one.....keep in mind when you want answers give details such as what your op sys is....you will get better results. If you are using windows xp it can be done in windows paint program. JUGNUTS, you are a boob, the pic has to be converted! Stick to milking cows! Earlier windows paint will not work!

using windows, most versions have "mspaint" program available. Open the BMP file in mspaint (start->run, type mspaint then OK; then "open" your BMP), then "save as" and save it as a JPG. if mspaint is not available or won't cooperate, use an image processing program like Photoshop to do the same thing (open BMP, save JPG.) If you don't have photoshop and don't want to waste the money, "the Gimp" is a photoshop knockoff that runs on Linux and I think also on windows and is free to download. It might be at gimp.org, I don't recall.

There is one other way, if it works. Open the BMP image as a file in your web browser. Then right-click on the image and "save as". If you're lucky, it will give you the option of a format, then choose JPG. If you're not lucky, it will only save it as it was (a BMP.) You can try different browsers (MSIE, Mozilla, Firefox) to see if one can do that; if so, sweet. Mozilla and Firefox are free.

Just renaming the extension will NOT work. The file has to be converted. All renaming it will do is produce junk for the viewer on the other end.

Open the bmp file. Click on File which is at the top of the window- click on 'Save As'. A little window will pop up and at the very bottom, change the file extension to jpeg in "Save as type" option. The file should be now saved as the jpeg image.

Open the pic with Paint, clk File (upper left corner) and choose Save As. Under the filename you type will be the format, clk the down arrow and choose .jpg.
If this doesn't work, try the same thing with any other photo edit program you have on your puter.

Well usually, when you save, you go to 'Save As'. A little window will pop up and at the very bottom, you click on the little arrow and an option thing come down. Jpeg should be one of them, Although I hate when it doesn't do that.
