My uncle passed away recently, and I would like to read the complete Will, but prefer not to go through the Executor at this time. I am a beneficiary, as I received a letter from the Executor this week, listing my uncle's wishes, and the items I am to inherit, according to his will. Can I view the document, or a copy, there-of, at the Town Clerk's office or with the (?)Registrar of Wills, without first going through the Executor, or his law firm? I live in the Commonwealth ofVirginia. Thanks for your assistance!

Yes it is public record. Contact the county seat where he lived-the Clerk of Court's office will have a copy on record.

When my father in law died, his wife refused to let us see the will. We went tot he clerk's office, got a copy, and I believe we had to pay a nominal fee for a copy-I believe it was merely the cost of having the document photocopied.

Good luck to you!

*edit-Upon further reading I see you are form Va-Me too. It's very easy to get a copy of the document-go for it.

Not sure about that but his lawyer should give you a copy with no hassles
