Hi sweetie,
I've been a model for 7years.
1st of all, what sort of modeling are you talking about? There are swimsuit models, runway models, etc. If it is high fashion modeling that you are talking about i.e. ramp, editorial, etc. then maybe I can help.

It's not always easy or glamourous, so you need to have a good attitude. Patience & confidence is very important. Not everybody will like how you look, so you need to be able to handle rejection well... just keep in mind that it is usually a matter of being at the right place,at the right time &with the right people.

Look for a good agency to represent you. They can give you advice & will give you a realistic view of wether or not modeling is for you.
Generally you have to be tall & thin. Being 'pretty' doesnt cut it. Beauty often is associated by something unique that you have to offer.
Practice your walk. Look in the mirror, ask others what your best angle is. Develope a portfolio. Learn how to apply light makeup. Dress in clothes that are simple yet slightly elegant & chic. Dont overdress or wear too much makeup you will look like you're trying too hard. Choose a pair of stilettos that are about 3" high & practice walking in them. Simple black strappy heels that go with pretty much any outfit will do.

Here are my TOP TIPS for you:
1.Some agencies take a close look at skin & hair. While breakouts are normal, you need to have a generally smooth complexion. You must have good teeth...&long legs.

2.People do not want to work with a model with attitude. There are far too many girls out there for them to put up with bad behavior. Professionalism goes under this category. BE ON TIME for GOsees and work!!!!

3.Availability. Girls who are single or not enrolled at school have a better chance at being taken seriously as a model as agencies look for girls that they can call on for a shoot or a show anytime, anywhere.

4.Measurements. Small everything! A good example would be 32cup B chest (neither flatchested or too big) I myself am 33A.
If you are 5'9 below you must have a 24" waistline or less. If you are 5'11 and above you are excused from that and a 25" waistline is acceptable. Hips must be small.31" is ideal. Mine are 32-33. Designers need some1 that can fit into anything. As a model you are a living hanger for the clothes you wear. That doesnt mean you can go ahead and starve yourself. Too skinny girls are a turn off. You need to be fit and healthy.

I have so much more advice to give, but I will need more specific questions. You can email me at sofias_realm@yahoo.com.

Aside from approaching an agency for help you could join a modeling contest. That will be a stepping stone & will kickstart a modeling career for you.

Above all, you really must be open to learning. Throw out any misconceptions you might have about modeling & be willing to start from scratch. Agencies need to be able to train you.

BE WARY of those that might want to take advantage of you. Never pay any1 for a chance at modeling, you are the 1 who should be paid! So many fall victim to this. Also beware of predators. If you can have some1 acompany you at first then that would be great. Remember, you dont have to do anything you dont want to do. If you dont feel comfortable then you can always walk away.

for being a model u need to be somehow tall, and slim 1.70 to 1.80 is nice then have a nice clean silky skin, nice long shiny silky hair, nice face features, u have to know how to walk properly with high heels, u have to keep a healthy diet and exercising, no smoke, no drugs, no alcohol, sleep well, have some intellectual knowledge, know some languages, french, Spanish, etc, study a career, law, philosophy, etc, then u can make pics and be ready to launch yourself, being model is not just a skinny woman bulimic without a mind, has to be integral beauty and health too.

Go and find some good agency in your area. Make a portfolio. Tone up your figure. Be stylish. Hunt the newspapers for ads.

You must be tall and skinny (boney like) not an inch of fat anywhere.fair beautiful skin color tone, and got to be able to walk on high heels with chin up and not walking with a hunch back.
You also need to eat very healthy so be careful of all the junk food surrounded by you.

you can't just "do" modeling...you have to look good, eat healthy 24/7, and exercise........first you might want an agency to sign you.......don't let them talk you in to taking classes.....because usually you don't need them
