Yep. My dad was an army Ranger. They teach you to eat that (and dog and vulture) in Ranger School.

Yes - cut off the head to get rid of any poison sacks. Gut and skin the snake and then prepare. Wear gloves when skinning the snake as some snakes have poisonous secretions in the skin.
I've had puff adder pie which is quite tasty. Though some of the larger adders are really too fatty for good eating.

ur question is a bit ambigous-
wether or not its ok eating snakes depends on 2 factors!
first, if ur in such a situation wherein u have to eat it for survival, then there is nothing u cn do 'bout it, is there?!
in that scenario, snake is nothing...people might not even give a damn 'bout eating a fellow human- conscience or not! lol
and secondly, i guess it also depends upon 'ur conscience'!!!¬(i.e. if there is no nescessity 4 u 2 eat such stuff- and if its just for fun, machoism?!)
snake meat, and for that matter, any meat can be eaten if u think it is all rite 2 do so!
personally wot u feel is wot u get!
i most definetly have heard of people eating snakes in china and japan but, this is d 1st time i'm hearing about americans indulging in this, woh...the world is indeed a global place!
njoi ur meat!!! double lol

yeah mate its ok to eat snake just dont eat the head with the poison glands ..duh...but in reality if you dont cook it right it will be a stringy meal for sure...easiest way to cook it is just light a wood fire outside and drop the snake onto the coals and just cook it like you would trout the meat will just come away from the bones fairly easy..(lots of bones) and very little meat by comparison

Dear Fred,
I am writing this letter to you to let you know that yes some people do eat snakes, and i have no idea how they taste or how to cook them. thing it I feel the people who began eating the sankes did it out of desperation, there was nothing to eat, like eating bear, or whale, you know.
Had you gone to your pot and cooked the adder by now you'd be licking your fingers either happily or with regret. now i suggest you find a resurant or country that does eat snake, go there and eat what they cook,.
you just might get it wrong and .....
Yours in faith that you'll just go to Mcdonalds
Lee

My father's ship was torpedoed in WW2 and he was stranded in the Phillipines. He and his men HAD to eat snakes, monkey's and all sorts of other things to survive, so yes, I think you can eat snake.

Many places in the U.S. have rattlesnake roundups. At all of the roundups they serve fried rattlesnake. I don't know if all snakes are edible, but rattlesnakes are poisonous and if it is edible, I would assume all snakes are edible.
