What type and capacity motor oil should be used on a 1993 Nissan Sentra XE?

10W-30W or check with a Nissan dealer in your area.
But I am certain of the grade, I once owned a 1990 Nissan
and this was all I used in the engine that traveled more than
172,000 miles for me..

You can look at oil grades, some are getting better. Small engines, cars, even specified miles.
