How many times do we read advices like "talk to your parents, mother, neighbour, brother, colleague etc. to resolve issues"?
Isn't it equally possible to mess things up further by talking about a dispute?
Is talk over-rated?
About time we start giving a little more practical advices?

Talk helps to say that there's a problem, and we need to figure out the solution. But to resolve a problem, talk is not enough at all.
Talk, then do something.
Talk is like an announcement, I'm going to do that and that because so and so...

No.
You can always resort to action.
So can the other person.
You shut up. They walk out. Problem solved.
You hit them. They hit you. One of you comes out standing. problem solved.
You can solve your problem that away if you prefer, but: you relationship will be forever changed. Is that what you want? If not talk.
The problem with people today is that they think all arguments come to a mutual understanding. They don't. Two points don't form a line segment. There has to be something connecting them. Perhaps you have to find out what that is.

i think talk is great! that way you have the chance to listen to other peoples points of view! it enables you to listen to how the feel! Theres no point in talking if you don't listen! By not wanting to talk or listen you will never get any where in life! Is way you stand a chance of forming your own point of view! May be change some one else idea! Or just by talking about it come to your own solution! Enjoy!

Talk only works if the parties involved are willing to make compromises and concessions, or to take advice and guidance. It is an option, but sometimes it is not the end all, be all option.

No doubt talk can resolve some problems but good understanding is more powerfull, understanding makes much more impact on individuals...like how much parents understand their child, understanding b/w sibblings, friends is very important.

sometimes talking things out is a better choice. but sometimes, when everything else fails, your actions, are the greatest advantages you have in your arsenal. try to keep in mind that im speaking for a limited number of situations, when i say, Actions speak louder than words.

No, it isn't overrated at all. You should always try to talk FIRST. Then, if that doesn't work, find another solution.
