lol good question i have thought bout this how do we know waht's good and whats evil ... we all have dif views so good and evil could never be 100% just. What i think is good you might think it is evil, what you think is good i might think it is actually evil. But we do agree on alot of things as humans there is plenty of comon ground so to speak that is how we consider good from evil.

Good and evil are labels. So to determine what can be considered as either label you must give definitions to the labels of good and evil. Most people believe in general definitions of good and evil but I have yet to hear of more than two people being able to agree on a single definition of what they believe is good or evil. The first step to answering this question is determing what is good and evil. I would really recommend you reading "The Euthephro" by plato he comes to some good ideas and breaks some misconceptions about good, evil, and god.

Honestly, I still have absolutely no idea of what good and evil are. I kinda just go with the flow and do my best each day in the way that makes the most sense to all that is me.

Evil is a strong word. I don't believe most people have evil in them. How to distinguish right from wrong? Most people know in their gut & simply choose to ignore it for one reason or another. It is human nature to sin. Read the Bible...or whatever book may be apart of your religion. No matter your religion, they all say the same thing basically as far as that goes.

To answer that Nietzche, in of good and evil, studied the etymology or origin of the words. He found that good and evil are concepts derived from noble societies, and good is like one self, and evil is like those on the same level with whom one doesn't agree. So, good to me would be defined as me and my characteristics, and evil would be defined as a classmate that wears too much perfume, and her characteristics.
But good and bad were described by slave cultures. And bad was those people stronger than the slaves. Good was what was not like the strong people. So good was things like compassion, humility, and kindness, and evil was dominant, strong, proud, and cruel.
I personally distinguish them by how helpful they are in making progress. Good is helping other people, being responsible, and working to understand, and creativity. Evil is humiliating people, being irresponsible, repressing people and promoting ignorance.

Think of it this way: If there was no evil, how could you tell what was good, or if there was no good, how could you tell what is evil?

Think of things along the lines of posative and negative. As long as the actions you take have a posative outcome, then your action, no matter how negative, will be a karmic posative.

Good and evil are opposites. Good represents all that is nurturing respectful, and loving, for your creator, yourself, and others. Evil is that which destroys and brings a death within your soul that which links you to your creator, yourself, and others.

Evil often masquerades as good. This is what is scary!

There's no procedure to disntinguish. Its very simple: the way u look at things around you and u like some and u dislike some, similarly its the way u behave with people around you. At last I would say it depends on you only. If u r good with them, they will reciprocate and if u r bad then vice versa.
