Maybe during the fall, your fish had damaged its swim bladder. I'm not sure about the treatment but I'm pretty sure that the fact that your fish is swimming up side down has something to do with the swim bladder. You can go to this website to find more information about swim bladder:

There is actually something called "flip over" and it's caused by air getting into the fishes body causing it to float, in your case upside down. I would contact a vet, or an aquatic specialist (ie, aquarium shop) and see if they can give you some suggestions. Hope this helps.

Try putting the fish in a small bowl with some rock salt(Please dont put table salt as it may have harmful chemicals) in it.
It would recover usually. You can do the same whenever you feel a fish is realy sick.
