I moved to North Pole, AK from Omaha, NE. If you are an out door person living in the Interior, ie, Fairbanks is for you. Plenty of activities during the summer and winter. If you are city person go to Anchorage.

As far as living, the weather here is snow in the winter, no wind all year, low humidity and cool summers. In Anchorage there is wind, rain, lots of snow, and more wind!!

Working there are plenty of jobs here. First of all you need to establish a residency here. Just about everyone starts the conversation with how long they have been here.

Other factors, people here in the Interior are very independent and Alaska has almost always voted Republican. Our current governor is the most disliked one in all 50 states, he is Republican and running again. So we will probably elect an Independent for governor this year.

They do pay you to live here, about 1000 bucks per person.
