I don't believe a man is generally influential. He may be influential to certain people in certain circumstances. To be influential means to be helpful in making a decision or move or change etc. because you have knowledge in that area. To influence.

The same thing as makes a woman influential...it depends on what and whom is being influenced. Money, intelligence, charisma, humour, experience, oratory, or simply becoming famous can influence people.
But we all influence others by our simplest deeds. A smile can lift someone's spirit, and if we're rude or unpleasant we can spoil someone's day.

It depends on who he is influencing. People are different and influenced by different things. Some possible answers are: money, knowledge, experience, position, level of power just to name a few.
