"Racism" in some form or another is 'hard wired' into human beings on a genetic level. To survive in this world you must hunt or be hunted... it is only mankind's intelligence (such as it is) that gives us the advantage over the other predators that populate the Earth. We came by this aggressive quality from the harsh environment we evolved in. Once we learned to control our environment (i.e. cities) we no longer had much good use for aggressive behavior and had to come up with laws to control people's behavior.... if you bash your neighbor over the head with a stick, we will put you in jail. However, subtle aggressive behavior is rewarded in our society... all men of wealth and power have an aggressive side because that's what it takes to get ahead in today's world, complex though it is.
