There is nothing on Earth to compel someone to believe

I believe in a higher being, something out there that has a much greater power then we do. In some ways I believe in the religious gods but I don't know about the God, ruler of the universe. I don't think that one being, as powerful as it may be, could have created such a vast universe.

1) There has never been any objective evidence whatsoever of any supernatural beings or forces of any kind, despite the staggering amount of very surprising facts learned in physics research. The truth of detailed examination of the nature of reality is completely counter-intuitive and therefor far, far more interesting than "God made it that way".

2) The laws of physics are constant and inviolable; a single exception renders them invalid (and a Divine Omniscient Omnipotent Creator is the biggest violation of physical law imaginable)

3) Human psychology has created God-like beings to explain the mysteries of the Universe time and time again; clearly it's a crutch our brains naturally reach for when confronted with things we don't understand

4) Explaining natural phenomena as the will of a supernatural force is directly counterproductive to expanding our understanding of reality, as will is arbitrary but reality is orderly (but very surprising).

I did as a child. But, I feel now that belief in him is self dillusion. When, I was in my questioning years, I often would cry-out begging to be shown something truly divine and convinceing that would have set my soul on fire and make me feel that I was not a fool to believe in something that no one could proove anything to me about. No answer, no answer, never anything. I even tried the fleece test detailed in the bible. It's all bullshit... don't waste your time and energy. Unless without religion you'd be a serial killer, then, AMEN brother!!!

Because "faith" can only take you so far before you realise the cold hard truth.... Science presents new evidence everyday, and its there... you can see it, you can read it, study it... This, so called, "God" however, seems to leave EVERYTHING to faith. Shows you nothing, but asks you to believe anyway. And what I mean by "God", is of course the churches.
