Warner Bros. has officially announced that the fifth movie will be released on July 13, 2007. There is not yet an official release date for the seventh book, but JK Rowling does not expect it to be ready before summer 2007. There was a rumor that the last book was going to come out on 7/7/07, but I think that someone just thought that it would be cool to release the seventh book on the day with a bunch of 7s in it. (Which I agree would be pretty cool.) There is doubt, though, that the movie and the book would be released so close to each other. The release date for the fifth movie is official, though.

Being in the book business, I can verify that there is no onsale-date/publishing date for this book as yet. The date 07/07/07 is a rumor only at this time.
Today’s (26 June 06) City Paper quotes J.K Rowling herself as stating:"I am feeling sad as it is the last one. But so far, so good." But when pressed on when the book would be ready for publication would only say "I'm doing well I think. You can never really tell till you get near the end. I am not quite there yet."
As for the movie, I do not know.

They are both said to be coming out in July of 2007. The last and final book should reach bookstores on 7/7/07 if you believe in rumors.

Apparently both the movie and the book are rumoured to be coming out in July of 2007...I doubt that they would be released so close together though, so likely the final book will come out next summer, and the fifth movie will come out in the late fall/early winter like the other movies have...hope that answers your question! : )

There is not a release date for either yet! There is talk that the last book will be out around Christmas or shortly after. And as for the next movie, probably around Feb. or March next year. But that is a guess.

fifth film is 13th of july apparently book is 7th of july to allow for huge publicity and potter-mania.
