You can use stain if it really IS wood, otherwise you need to use veneer.

Check out the link below. The colors needed have to be matched to the type of wood finish you are trying to acheive. If you have a sample of what you want it to look like, you can use that as your basis to pull the key colors out. This will be a lengthy thing to acheive, be patient when doing this project.
