It depends. There's not enough info to go on. Who has custody now? What's the status of the girl's bio-mother? No matter what, you'll have to petition family court for custody. Without info, it's anybody's guess as to yer odds of success. I'd talk it over with a family law counselor. They'll be able to give ya an informed answer.
Are you seperating from yer s-daughter's father? And is the girl's mother still alive? Has the natural mother been declared an unfit parent?

First, get a good attorney. What are your motives for getting custody? If you can prove she is in danger or the other parent is unfit in someway, you may have a chance...but where is biological other parent? They have a say here too!
