Go to Indian Railway site http://www.indianrail.gov.in/ , choose trains between two stations; from among the trains plying, select the train you wish to travel, press the "get Schedule" button at the bottm and you get the station by station, kilometre by kilometre, minute by minute description of your journey, without any hassle and bothering anyone else.

I dont think the train would take such a round about route cos Surat(Gujarat) is to the north of Bombay(Maharashtra) and Bhopal(Madhya Pradesh) is towards the East of Bombay.

no sir ;bhopal trains r going from mumbai cst. ie cst bhud\saval bhopal and onwards to dilhi.
